This past weekend I had the priviledge of shooting not just a wedding but a whole weekend of events for two families that seemed to have known each other forever. The whole weekend was filled with moments like this one — the father of the bride giving Brian a high-five as he gave her away (Brady caught this shot):

He and Brian seemed like best friends. And everyone was so entirely gracious to us and treated us fabulously — like one of the family. We managed to dodge thunderstorm after thunderstorm all throughout the day and even grabbed a rainbow just before the ceremony started.

One of my favorite moments was Liz and her mother sharing a quiet moment as they looked at Liz’s stunning wedding gown (also by Brady):

One of the other striking things about the entire weekend was the amazing color everywhere. Two people that deserve mention here are Susan Graham (the consultant) for the concept and Blossoms at Biltmore Park for the execution. Simply stunning…

This was a so cool. I sent Brady to cover the guys getting ready in another part of the hotel while I was with Liz and her parents. When I looked at all the shots that night I was amazed to find that these two shots (the first by me, the second by Brady) were shot about 30 seconds apart in two different parts of the hotel!

And as usual, a very special thanks to my team, Hassel and Brady, for coming out and helping me give Liz and Brian images they’ll cherish forever.

Katie & Nic’s Engagement Session

Sunday, July 2nd, 2006

I had another e-session with Katie and Nic tonight who have known each other or been dating for 8 years and it really shows in the subtle ways they communicate. I’m shooting their wedding in September and they were telling me that they were going to have a trolley to get them from the church to the reception. How cool is that!!

I had a great time getting to known them and we had some tremendous mexican grub at Agave in downtown Atlanta.

Thanks guys!

Ben
