Noelle & Patrick in Roswell, GA

You might remember Noelle and Patrick from their engagement session at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens last fall. This was one of those weddings that you just look forward to as a photographer. I had been in regular communication with them about the schedule leading up the wedding day and I knew everything was prepared. I also knew that Noelle and Patrick were going to be just stunning and most of all, Noelle is the epitome of joy to work with. Her enthusiasm is just amazing!

First off, I have to thank my great friend, Patrick, from PWP Studio for coming out to shoot with me. Patrick used to shoot weddings here in Atlanta for years but is now focussed solely on corporate photography and taking care of event photography for the Coca Cola’s and Microsoft’s of the world. It was fun seeing Patrick meld into my world for a day.

Check out this necklace… just… WOW!

And these Badgley Mischka shoes!

The super fabulous Formal Faces was taking care of hair and makeup for all the ladies…

Okay, I have to tell you… Noelle was about to hyperventilate when she realized that Patrick had given her this gift…

I’m fairly certain that Noelle can’t take a bad photo…

I love shooting at St Peter Chanel! It big and roomy and the light is so nice compared to most churches.

All of Noelle’s friends from Priscilla of Boston in Atlanta were there to bustle her dress, which was quite the feat!

Okay, there’s a story here… we decided to grab a few photos outside just after the sun had set… it’s past 9pm and it was still SOOOO hot outside. After just a few minutes Noelle hikes up her dress to cool off a little bit. I just love Patrick’s reaction in the first photo. Of course, we decided to make the best of the situation.

For the photographers reading this: this is completely available light. In fact, the Nikon D3 is such a crazy good camera that I had to add all that grain in Photoshop Lightroom. That’s f/2.8, 1/60s @ISO 5000 and I pulled another stop and 1/2 in Lightroom so that’s roughly ISO 15,000…

Congratulations Noelle & Patrick!

Meghan & Nick at Reynolds Plantation

It was such a pleasure to shoot Meghan and Nick’s wedding at Reynolds Plantation! The wedding was at Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church and the reception was at the amazing Ritz-Carlton, Reynolds Plantation

So let’s start at the end, shall we… meet Meghan and Nick:

I’ve known Meghan a couple years through various friends but mostly through my old assistant, Christina, whose wedding I shot over the summer and who was also a bridesmaid at Meghan’s wedding. Meghan was so STUNNING!

I actually knew Bill, Meghan’s dad, years before Meghan. Check out this shot of daddy greeting his daughter. I just LOVE this shot that my associate, Huy, took!

So remind me again why Meghan is coaching sports…???

Here’s the former Archbishop of Atlanta, who concelebrated the wedding Mass, and Nick just before the start of the wedding.

One of my favorites of the day…

Here’s another favorite…

Oh wait a second, another favorite…

Both Meghan and Nick are trying to hold it together during the toasts by their parents.

You’ve never see a more proud father…

The peace of knowing you’re exactly where God wants you to be…

Congratulations Meghan and Nick!

“Dear Jason, I am so excited to spend our lives together…”

That is how Vicky’s note to Jason begins. And this is how their married life begins:

One of the things that I sometimes find intriguing is the timing of the day. Since all of us capturing images on your wedding day (whether it’s two or three or four of us) all synchronize the times on our cameras I always take the images from all the cameras and edit the images chronologically. The part that I find really amazing is to see what the bride and groom are doing at the same moment. Sometimes you find the bride reading a note from the groom and vice versa at the exact same time. Here’s Vicky and Jason both getting ready to walk out the door and looking in the mirror.

The stunning bride…

Ahhh, the waiting…

This is one of my favorite moments of the day. Don’t think I’m weird. After Mass, the wedding party was invited over to Vicky’s parents’ beautiful home in Country Club of the South. As we were getting ready to depart for the reception, Vicky and Jason stepped into her father’s basement office and took a few moments to practice their dance one last time. Just Vicky, Jason and dad who snapped a few frames with his camera too.

The first dance…

This is where it gets amazing! Vicky’s mother, had alerted me in the weeks leading up to the wedding that if the weather held up then Vicky and Jason and all the guests were going to be surprised with an evening fireworks show. And surprised they were! This show was as good as the Stone Mountain show — just to give you an idea of the scale.

A very special thanks go out to Brian Steele for his trusty assisting/shooting and to Chris Torres of 6 of Four Creations for coming out and getting some amazing shots.

Congratulations Vicky and Jason!
